Tuesday Thought: Arrow Escorts

Good morning darlings!  How is your Tuesday morning going for you?  Wonderful I hope ;-)

Well I am back this Tuesday with another thought for you.  I have been finding myself drawn to arrows and feathers a lot lately.  So when I ran across these arrows...
Arrow
...and found out they were a DIY - I knew it was time that I did an arrow post!

So here is your 'Tuesday Thought' darlings:  Use these arrows as escort cards for a fabulous desert themed affair.  Since they are a DIY using fabric scraps, washi tape, and paint amongst other items, you can customize them anyway that you like.  And to turn them into escort cards, just add a tag.  Also, you could have each table be a different arrow style/pattern/color.  Then on the tables you could have two arrows forming an X, and attach them to a table runner that hangs over the edge of the table!  Would be wonderful, no?

And you know me...I would take it a step further, and add a feather or two onto place cards.  Also, I might tie the napkins with some suede shoelaces...you get the idea ;-)

If you would like to make your own you, Modern Kiddo featured a guest post by Thompson Family Blog their blog with a step-by-step how to.  You can get it right HERE.

Happy DIYing darlings!

Tuesday Thought: Drawer Liners

Good day loves ;-)  You know the old saying:  "when it rains, it pours?"  Well it is POURING in my neck of the woods...and I'm not talking rain either!  Well not yet at least...that's supposed to start on Thursday this week.  I must say that I would take pouring rain down over this type of pouring anyday!  But all that has to wait unitl I get my window fixed in my car ;-(  Yes, after just a couple weeks ago spending almost $1500 to get my car fixed, I now have to dump another...at least $450 because my driver side window won't go up!  Of course this doesn't happen in the Summer...nope, it happens when I have to drive to work in 50 degree temperatures.  Oh and yes, it is stuck all the way down.  And yes, I have to get it fixed as it's supposed to start raining on Thursday.  So you see, I still have a day job...gasp - I don't think I have ever mentioned that before...which with two postings daily here, one posting on OTMVR's blog (which I haven't posted there in over a week - bad Kristi), a vintage rental businesses, two Etsy businesses and an event planning business...you can see how it's P-O-U-R-I-N-G in my neck of the woods right now.

So hang tight with me loves as my posting has been a bit off for the last two weeks...I have soooo much going on right now I can't see straight...including a possible MOVE!  We, being me and LCW, are not going anywhere...we are just ironing out some kinks and fixing up the car ;-)  So stay with me please as the next week or two might be a bit sporadic in posting...I promise I will be back to normal by the first of December!

And while I didn't get a Tuesday Shoesday post done today, I did do my 'Thought Thought' post.  Here was my inspiration this week...
Tuesday Thought
Gold chevron drawer liners ;-)  Oh how I would LOVE to line my drawers with these!  And as always it got me thinking.  These liners are too pretty to go inside a drawer...hmmm.

So here is your 'Tuesday Thought' loves:  Use these drawer liners as decor for your tables!  Can't you just picture a glam event with these running the lengths of the tables?  And it doesn't even have to cover the entire table...just a couple on a long rectangular table would be fabulous.

It's so perfect for a bridal shower, bridesmaids luncheon, or just about any other party.  And another 'Thought' for you...is you could possibly use them for place mats for a smaller affair!  Hey, if I can use wallpaper (and lots of other different things) as place mats and table runners...then I can most certainly use drawer liners...hehe ;-)

You can get your own fabulous golden chevron drawer liners right HERE.

Tuesday Thought: Light it Up

Hey sweet peas!  It's Tuesday...which means it's time for another 'Tuesday Thought.'  I love doing this post.  For me, sometimes it's like finding a needle in a haystack...100's of pictures later, I find the one that triggers a thought ;-)  Well honestly, they all trigger thoughts...but I'm always on the lookout for one that would work for weddings and events (even though I usually can make them all work...hehe), can be something that you yourselves can recreate and of course, most importantly, is a bit different!

So here is the picture that triggered thoughts to swirl and twirl inside my head...
Tuesday Thought
How simply spectacular are the globe lights with pictures, notes and bits and pieces?  LOVE it ;-)

So here is a simple thought for today sweet peas:  While you can always use globe lights to hang pictures from at your wedding, I think this would make a FABULOUS escort area for an evening wedding!  Talk about a winter wonderland come to life...string up globe lights, or twinkling ones if you'd like, and clip your escort cards right on!  I might add little sprigs of greenery here and there too.

You could even take it up a notch by using glittered clothespins (like the ones I make here...nice plug, no?) so they sparkle and shine.  Oh and if your looking for globe lights, well I have those too...in clear and frosted ;-)

Granted, these globe lights are fantastic outside too...so all the Spring and Summer garden, winery, beach, ranch, barn, etc...weddings would all work perfectly as well.  And you can always change out the style of clips to fit your theme/setting.

Also, I think having your guests clip on notes for the two of you...to help your love shine...would be cute too!

What do you think sweet peas?  A good thought?

Tuesday Thought: If The Bride Likes To Cook

Happy Tuesday dears!  Question for you?  Do you ever have an idea that you hold onto for a while...not quite ready to share with anyone, yet alone everyone?  I do ;-)   However, it seems that sooner or later I always end up sharing them with you!  Yet, this idea I have held onto for 12 + years.

You see, I LOVE to cook.  I don't cook very often anymore and I am pretty sure that I lost my touch now...however, at one point I was a very good cook, or so I like to think.  At my bridal shower years and years ago - I received a cookbook from Aunt Millie as a gift.  Yet, there was a super special part  - and that was I was living in the Chicago area at the time, and she was living here, in California.  She had mailed my gift to my soon to be mother-in-law's house to have her bring to the shower.  So you could only imagine my amazement when I unwrapped a gift from her, as she wasn't even there.  I cried when I opened it!  It was sooo special to me, especially since my Grandma had passed away years before.  The cookbook she sent me was The Joy of Cooking and had a lovely little note inside the front cover.  It was at that moment that I thought a cookbook shower would be so fabulous!

I know long story, but not too long ;-)  But I felt I had to share so you knew where my thought came from... because when I ran across these two pictures, it brought back all the memories...
Tuesday Thought
Tuesday Thought
And figured that now was the perfect time to share my long held thought ;-)

So I have a couple Tuesday Thoughts for you!  The first being for a BRIDAL SHOWER (my original thought) - why not host a cookbook shower for the Bride (or Bride and Groom even).  Have each guest bring a cookbook (you can have them e-mail you the name, so there is no duplication), with their favorite recipe bookmarked in the book and an short note on the inside cover!  You can deorate the tables, as above, with a couple of the cookbooks the hosts are giving.  And you can have other cooking utensils or items than the rolling pins...even though I heart the rolling pins ;-)  It would be cute to do a variety of cooking utensils on the table - a whisk, a wooden spoon, etc...  Not too many, just like above is perfect I think.

My second and final thought is for a WEDDING - instead of table numbers have each table be a different cookbook ;-)  I LOVE this idea.  Then as a favor you can copy a recipe from each book, bind all the recipes together, and give it away as a favor ;-)  I think I would attach a little wooden spoon and some cooking string to the small bound book too!

I know I have talked about recipes and possibly even cookbooks before, however, I don't think I have shared these ideas with you.  Can't you imagine (if you like to cook) getting bunches of cookbooks with a note in each one with favorite recipes in the book, words of cooking advice, or even thoughts on the recipe for a good marriage.

I have always beleived that cooking together and eating meals together is an important part in a relationship.  It's a chance to work as a team, and then sit down together and actually talk to one another.  It is ONE of the biggest things I miss being single...along with being the little spoon and kisses on the top of my head...but you don't really need to hear that ;-)  And if you don't cook...then just enjoy your takeout together...hehe....cause there are definitely days we did that too!

Just my thoughts for you on this Tuesday my dears.  See you tomorrow.

Tuesday Thought: Glitter Spoons

I am hoping that today starts turning around!  I know I am running late...but I had to drop my car off at the shop late last night as it has been dying for no apparent reason...and then I wake up and it's grey and drizzling.  Which is kind of fitting for my mood ;-(  How can it be that I drop my car off and they call me this morning and tell me that - JUST TO LOOK at it will be $170.00.  NOT to fix anything...just to look!  Aye - I can only imagine what it is going to cost me.

On the bright side, I am SO super-duper thankful that Mr. Big has an extra car that I can drive.  Oh yeah I am cruising around in a big old suburban people...so watch out ;-)  I actually love driving the suburban...it has lots of space for me to fill up the back with goodies for Over The Moon!  Actually, I am not buying any goodies right now...not until I know how much money it's going to cost me to fix my car.  However, freebies on the side of the road  - oh yeah, I can most definitely do those ;-)

Anyhoo, in order to brighten things up around here I was looking on Pinterest for some inspiration.  I have to say darlings, that my sissy is ADDICTED to Pinterest now that she's on it.  She is so fabulous that she even has a section of ideas and inspiration called 'For My Sis.'  I know, she's the BEST SISSY EVER!  Okay, back on track ;-)  While I happened to be looking around for the perfect mood brightener, I ran across these and fell in LOVE...
Tuesday Thought
Gold and silver glitter spoons - get out!  Just what this girl needs to not only brighten her day but post while in the midst of Glitter Week...well not really glitter week, but close enough, no?  They are actually clear acrylic spoons filled with glitter, and come in a set of 6 (3 of each) for $34.00.  And I thought to myself that there must be some way I could use these.  Knowing me...of course, I can ALWAYS find a way ;-)

So here is your 'Tuesday Thought' dearests:  How darling would these be to mail out to your girlfriends for a bridal luncheon or bridal shower?  Attach them to a cute invite, place in a box, wrap it up in kraft paper, tie it with string and drop it in the mail!  Tell me you wouldn't want to be going to THAT party!?!  You know it would be all kinds of glittery goodness..hehe.

However, they would be fun to buy a whole bunch of them to serve with coffee and sweets, no?  Or give as favors!  Oh you don't really need an excuse to use these lovelies, do you?  Just because they are glittery and pretty is all the reason I need.  And hey - finally I can have a silver spoon...or wait golden spoon in my mouth...and you can too.  I think I just might have to make a purchase, as I really need something to brigthen this day...and these would do just that ;-)

P.S. They have more glittery goodness, and fun colors too...so check out Leif!

Tuesday Thought: GOURDgeous

I think to celebrate this first Tuesday in October - I am going totally rustic, Fall, country on you...if that makes any sense!  You all know how sometimes simple can be stunning, right?  Well, I think the simplicity of this...
Tuesday Thought or Who Says
is pretty stunning in a Fall, rustic way!  Such an interesting display of gourds, no?  I know we have all probably seen them before, but maybe just not in this way.  And you can always cut off the bottoms on some bottles so that the gourds could fit...or use cloche's, candlesticks, vases, etc...  I'm sure lots of fabulous things fit in there year around!  But I do LOVE this idea.

So here is your easy, breezy 'Tuesday Thought' my darlings:  Use gourds and clear glass jars, vases and even candlesticks to rest your gourds on or in for lovely centerpieces!  How pretty would this look all lined down a long table...white a white table cloth and a burlap runner...and lots and lots of candlelight so when it starts to get dark the candlelight can bounce off all the pretty glass.  Can you picture it?  It's an easy, eco-friendly centerpiece idea ;-)

My mom used to grow gourds to decorate with when she lived in Southern Indiana.  They are quite easy to grow, however letting them dry out (you know when they are dry when the seeds rattle inside) and then having to scrub them with soap and water, and sometimes even bleach was time consuming and a task...so while you could grow your own, if you had the time and space, for some of you I think it would be much easier to buy some of them...from here (I did NOT compare prices when looking, but the prices seemed reasonable and there was a great selection), or any other place you might find.  Yet, I do like the look of the ones above with some of the spots and colors versus the gourds that are completely scrubbed clean...so I would most definitely plant and grow my own...as long as I had the time ;-)  To find out how to clean them, click right here.

Oh, I bet a local farmers market might have some at this time of year, so you could check there too!  Just a thought for you darlings.  Hope you have a wonderful rest of the day ;-)

Tuesday Thought: Breakfast by the Barn

Cock-a-doodle-doooooooooooooooooo darlings ;-)  It's time to rise and shine!  Now that's a way to start the day, no?  Hehe.

I know, usually my Tuesday Shoesday post comes first on Tuesdays and not my Tuesday Thought...however, with a title like Breakfast by the Barn I figured this one just had to come first...no question about it like the whole chicken or the egg debate!

Anyhoo, how I would love to eat breakfast here every morning...
Breakfast by the Barn
Such a simple and sweet breakfast table.  I adore the place mats, and the eggs.  Did you see how they used twine tied in loose knots to hold the eggs?  Fabulous idea!  And all this inspiration got me thinking...and not about a breakfast reception ;-)

So here is your Tuesday Thought for today:  Host a morning after breakfast for your guests!  I know not an original thought - but one definitely worth repeating ;-)  When I got married 11 years ago, we did this for our guests since just about every single person came from out of town.  (It was mentioned in the Elegant Bride spread posted yestereday.) It doesn't have to be anything elaborate - bagels, muffins, donuts, fruit, coffee, etc...

But let me tell you - it was so FABULOUS spending time with our guests after the wedding.  I got to hear all about the events that I missed...like at the cigar and cognac bar...were every guy and girl just about was smoking a cigar!  Where was I? Or the fact that our caterer ran out of beer...I warned her about this...and having to make a late night run to the grocery store...in our town of 9,000, she was lucky the grocery store was still open!  And lots and lots of other stories.

Granted, we had all the guests back to the house after the reception (I know call me crazy)...I had beer bottles along every single inch of my wrap around porch to prove it ;-)...but we were too busy still celebrating to talk about all the happenings of the day and night.  It wasn't until the next morning when we actually got to hear all the stories, and were able to relax with our guests.  The breakfast was one of the best decisions I made!  I wouldn't have wanted it any other way ;-)  And neither will you!

Just an early morning thought for you darlings.  Now...who wants a mimosa?

Tuesday Thought: My Father's Daughter

Happy mid-morning my dears ;-)  I have been struggling a bit to get going this morning...I think it's the heat wave that hit yesterday and is hanging around today as well.  Not that I mind the heat, but after last week's cool, this week's heat seems even hotter - if that makes any sense.

And while I was trying to get motivated and into the swing of things around here this morning, I was in desparate need of some inspriation...that is until I ran across these pictures I had saved...
Board

board2
I am OVER THE MOON with not just the calligraphy here, but the page numbers too!  You see, the page numbers are where the recipes for the dish are located in the cookbook!  What cookbook?  Gwyneth Paltrow's cookbook, My Father's Daughter.  And this over sized chalkboard is such a great way to display the menu, no?  And of course it got me thinking...

So here is your 'Tuesday Thought' today my dears:  Use one cookbook for all the items on your menu, and then you could do as above - write the menu on a chalkboard with page numbers the recipes are on.  Then as favors, you could compile small books with each recipe that was on the wedding menu for the guests to take home.  Plus, you could always include something along with the recipe book...like a vinaigrette or butterball or berries ;-)  And even if you didn't choose the menu items from one cookbook you could still use this idea...just leave off the page numbers from the menu.  But you could still do small recipe books!

You could even do this for a homemade dessert table, and include all the recipes for each dessert that was featured.  I would love to give friends and family a cookbook, ask them to choose one recipe from it to contribute to the dessert table and then have it written up on a chalkboard with the page numbers along side.  For the guests I would not only give the recipes, but something from the dessert table as well.

I really L-O-V-E this 'Thought"!  It's personal, unique, memorable and something that I think your guests would enjoy...plus it works for any type of food.

Just a thought for you on this Tuesday my dears ;-)  Enjoy.

Tuesday Thought: For the Birds

Hi lovelies!  Is the morning flying by as fast for you as it is for me?  Eeks - it's almost 10 a.m. and I still need to do this post.

As I was sitting here thinking how quickly time was flying by, I did a search in my photo stash for birds (this is how my brain works) and this pretty picture popped up...
Tuesday Thought
Brightly colored birds on branches!  I was so happy to see this pretty picture, as all of a sudden lots of thoughts started swirling and twirling around in my head ;-)  And you know I L-O-V-E that!

So here are a couple 'Thoughts' for you lovelies:  First, I think this would make a wonderfully whimsy centerpiece.  Just use urns or wood boxes or pots or whatever else you like, and fill with florist foam, add some branches, cover with moss and add some birds and viola - and easy and whimsy centerpiece!

My second thought is to use these little fellas (the birds) as escort cards.  You could then be cute and ask guests to fly or flutter (I like this one) to their seat!  Or remember the 'Birds of a Feather Flock Together' wall quote I featured here from this same wedding?  Well you could always use this lovely quote and have your guests flock together to their table ;-)  To make just attach a tag hanging from the birds feet with your guests names and table number.  Or you could always do table by color...that way no writing table numbers down...a blue bird sits at the blue bird table.  However, I think I like all the colors of birds mixed together...so you could also name the tables after some of you favorite birds.

And my third and final thought today would be to use this idea for a wish/love note table for the bride and groom.  I would have guests write a note and add a bird to the branches with a wish/love note/etc... on it.  Cute, no?

Just some thoughts for you this Tuesday.  Hope your day is flying by...hehe ;-)

Tuesday Thought: Bean Bags

Hi loves, happy Tuesday!  Or should I say happy first Tuesday in September?

Just so you know - I am kinda giddy about today's 'Tuesday Thought' post ;-)  I know that some of my thoughts have been "out there," and this is definitely one that will fall into that category, I'm sure.  But I am going to post it anyway, and let you decide for yourselves what you think about my thought.

So here goes - you ready?  Let's have a look-see at my inspiration...
Bean-Bags
I stumbled across these darling handcrafted bean bags on a blog called Fanciful No. 2, and I just fell in love with the colors and thought there would be some way other than their original purpose in which to use.  So while I was sitting there, leaning back in my chair and racking my brain, I kept handing off my pen from one hand to the other...not quite tossing, but I'm sure you get the picture.  Then it struck me - I need one of these in my office!  And with that, this 'Tuesday Thought' was created.

So here is your thought for today:  Why not handcraft bean bags (or have someone else do them...me, me, me), and give them out as favors at your wedding?  Hang with me loves for just a second longer.  I know the thought initially sounds a bit outside of the box, off the wall, downright weird, or whatever else you want to call it but...BUT, hear me out on this one before you immediately say "No way, Jose!"  Poor Jose, never gets a chance ;-)

First, who doesn't love a cute bean bag?  And on days where you need a break from office work, just set up a mug or bowl and start-a-tossing...great distraction and stress reliever, right?  Second, most people like to toss ideas around...so why not toss this when doing so...hey something similar helped me come up with this idea ;-).  Third, they sure would make cute paperweights!  Fourth, a quick game of hot potato?  Fifth, you could always play a quick friendly game of catch with your cubemate...notice I did not say throw it at the back of their heads just for sh*t's and giggles!  And finally, just because they are fun, fun, fun!  Plus, I would use mine to stick extra pins, that for some reason are always laying around, in...or buttons and such.

All you need is some material, sewing machine and some beans.  Of course, I would make some manly looking ones for the guys too. And, I would create a cute little card that goes along with them with all the lovely toughts and suggestions for your guests in which to use ;-)  Oh, and I know if I was ever to get a favor like this...I would be tossing it around on the car ride home.  Well, that is if I wasn't driving of course!

So loves, why don't you TOSS some ideas around and see what else you could come up with!  Anyone up for a game of catch...

Tuesday Thought: Cocktails and Confetti and Centerpieces - Oh My

Hooray for Tuesday!  Gotta tell you that I am super-duper excited that it's Tuesday today.  Why, you ask?  Well because I might possibly get to see an option or two for LCW's new look today...weeeeeee.  Now that Over The Moon Vintage Rentals' website is up and running, I can focus on LCW's new look.  I know Carolynn of Two Brunettes is going to creating some amazingness for me ;-)  She did it once with OTMVR, and she'll do it again with LCW!

And with the new look will be some new news.  No, not Luna and Chloe Handcrafted on Etsy - that is happening later this week.  This is never before been said news.  And you know what, I am really looking forward to having everything done and all news said, and moving forward with business as usual.  Because you are probably getting tired of me talking about all of it!  I'm kinda getting tired of talking about it too...and just want to get working!  As I told Aunt Millie the other day:  "The pots not brewing, it boiling!.  And it's about ready to boil over!"  Ha ;-)

Okay, enough of that and on with this week's 'Tuesday Thought' which is all about confetti!  Why confetti?  Well first because confetti is just down right fun.  And second, because I am in the process of making something kind of, but not really, similar to this 'Tuesday Thought' for my Luna and Chloe Handcrafted Etsy store...which I will share with you on Thursday.  Anyhoo, I ran across this cute confetti made from paint strips on The Bride's Guide...
Brides-Guide-Tuesday-Though
Tuesday-THought-Brides-Guid
Then I saw this picture...
BG-TT
And thought:  Why not add a little fun and color to the each table by just adding some confetti, as above.  I don't know if it was just styled like this for the picture or not, but I do love the idea of having it on each table.  ***Keep in mind though loves, that if you are going to use paint strips they are only colored on one side, so the backside must be on the table.

Or better yet, have a confetti centerpiece!  A different apothecary jar (I have bunches of them for rent on OTMVR...even though only two are on the site currently) on each table, filled with colorful confetti would be a great cost effective centerpiece option if handcrafted.  Just make sure the paper you are using is two sided.  I am not saying the jars have to be filled to the top here - just about 1/3 the way up would be perfect.  And if you use larger punches, like above, it wouldn't be too much work with some help from friends or family.  I would suggest hosting a 'Cocktail and Confetti' party!  Now tell me that doesn't sound like fun?

Hmmm...just might get my girls to help me...hehe!  Happy Tuesday loves - hope it's a good one.

Tuesday Thought: Name Change

Wow, what a morning this has been!  I feel like I have spent an entire day working already and it's only 10:45 am...how does that happen?  And yet again, I am late getting this second post up as well...but I have been very productive this morning, and have accomplished bunches of things.

The first thing I wanted to get accomplished today was opening my Etsy store for Over The Moon.  And I can proudly say that is done.  So - CHECK!  You can see my new, totally empty store right here...OTM Handcrafted...which brings me to the title of this post.

Since I started LCW, I have always called the items I crafted homemade.  However, I have continued to call things 'homemade' because that is what I started with...but I have been wanting to call things handcrafted for ages now.  So I finally decided to make the change!  From here on out all my 'Homemade' posts will be called 'Handcrafted'...and I just wanted to share that with you, so I don't confuse everyone ;-)   Which I am sure I did, and will with this!

And yes, I know my store is currently empty - but I spent the majority of yesterday photographing most of my handcrafted items for the store.  I plan on working this week getting everything uploaded to Etsy, and should have everything completed by Monday, August 22nd.

I have lots of new items that will be added to the store that you have not seen yet, like these fabric covered letters, which will be available in the shop later today...
Homemade
Cute, no?

I can do ANY letters in ANY fabric - either that you choose, or I choose for you. I am selling these by letter - so you can spell out anything you'd like. The letters are covered with fabric pieces, it is NOT decoupaged on...so you can actually feel the fabric. All orders are custom and made once the order is placed. But all the details will be on Etsy. Eeks, can't wait to get everything up for you to see ;-)

So be sure to be ready to check it all out once I announce the 'Grand Opening' of OTM Handcrafted ;-)

P.S. - I still have a shop for Luna and Chloe on Etsy as well, and I will be sharing what I am doing with that in the next week or so as well!  Think OTM as vintage, and LCW as a bit more glam.  Along with another shop you will be able to find OTM vintage rentals, and handcrafted items in.  See...I've been a very busy, busy girl ;-)

Tuesday Thought: The Note Book

So I just have to say it - one more day until my family arrives!!!  WEEEEEEE ;-)) I CANNOT wait to hug and kiss and sniff on my niece and nephew!  I have missed them soooo much I can't even begin to tell you.  I know, I know...I'll give it a rest, and get on with this 'Thought'.

The other day I was on Etsy looking for a particular item when I stumbled across this...
Tuesday Thought
A homemade notebook with a vintage deer on it! And I thought that it was just so dang cute that I had to see what else the seller, Arminho, had...which was lots of cuteness with a variety of different styles and colors to choose from.  So be sure to pop on over and have a peek.

Anyhoo, when I saw this Note Book (which is 4 x 5.5...a great size) I had a fabulous little thought or two ;-))  So here is your 'Tuesday Thought' my dears:  Use the Note Book as escort cards and favors in one!  Easy, no?

You can write the guests name and table number on the front.  Or I think they would be fabulous placed inside a little envelope or flat styled kraft paper bag.  I would write the guests names on the bag, the table number on the Note Book and wrap it up with a piece of twine - eeks so fabulous!  But I might be inclined to just write the name and table number on the bag and leave the Note Book nice and neat for them...all still wrapped up cute though ;-)  However, it really could be used in a variety of ways.

However, you could always just you them as gifts or favors.  Definitely something different...and you know how I like different!  Happy Tuesday my dears...wishing you a wonderful day ;-)

Tuesday Thought: Life Is Beautiful

Happy Tuesday loves!  I am excited it's Tuesday today, as I am loving my thought for today.  To be honest, I had a couple of different thoughts for this week, but I decided on this one...so I hope you like it as much as me ;-)  Have a look-see at my inspiration...
Tuesday Thought
I ran across this quote/print and it just brightened my day!  As Life Is Beautiful, no?  And what's more beautiful than a wedding?  So, of course, it got my brain spinning...as lots of thinks do ;-)

So here is your Tuesday Thought for today:  How fabulously fun would it be to give a small print of an inspiration quote/thought as a favor at your wedding!?!  Or even a picture of something that inspires you.

Your guests could take it home, frame it (or put it on the fridge, or desk...) and will always be inspired and remember what a special day it was.  Now, I am not saying to use the print above...it is just what inspired my thought, so I thought I should share it with you.  And as I just typed that...it made me think that the image above would make darling notecards...and notecards would definitely be a darling gift as well!  A great bridesmaids gift.  Okay, sorry...gotta a little sidetracked...just how my brain works ;-)

Anyhoo, what I love about this idea, is it is something that you could create on your own.  A DIY.  Granted, you could always find one too, but a homemade one would be wonderful.  Then you can take it to the printer, have them print it up and cut to size.  All you would have to do is roll them up, tie them with a ribbon/twine and add a small note for your guests and voila!  A very personal gift to your guests that just might inspire them on a day when they need it most!

Tuesday Thought: Paper Flowers

Ahh another Tuesday, another Tuesday Thought!  And a darling thought I have for you today.  It's funny how you find something and think it's soooo fabulous...only to go to another blog and see the same thing in one of their posts!  You know what I am talking about, right?  Well that was exactly what happened when I stumbled upon this fabulous idea...
Tuesday Thought
I immediately said - oh I am saving that for my Tuesday Thought post...and then I run across it on The Wedding Chicks right here.  We both must have been looking in the same places ;-))  However, when I originally saw it I had one thought that popped into my head instantly...go figure.

So here is your Tuesday Thought for today:  While these would make fabulous decorations at your event, why don't you use them as escort cards!  With such an amazing array of cardstock these days you could do one color for each table...or have one color of the rainbow at each table with a table number!  Either way, I think they would be over the moon.

And what I love most is that these are an easy DIY with the step-by-step directions for three different flowers right here.  But as always there are lots of ways to use - as a backdrop to your ceremony area, on the cake, as bouts for the boys, or group a bunch together and make a bouquet for the girls, or attach a clip and wear in your hair...lots of options really!

Oh you bet your buttons this is another project that just got added to my never ending list of to do's ;-)

Homemade: Pin Cushions

Happy Thursday my darlings!  Today's 'Homemade' post is a spin off of this guest post I did for the oh so sweet Gaby of Cap Classique.  If you missed it you must have a look-see, as there are some simple and cute ideas ;-)

So as you might have guessed by the title (hehe) today's homemade project is pin cushions!  While I used store bought pin cushions as escort cards for the post I did for Gaby - I have to tell you...I am OVER THE MOON about the homemade ones I stumbled across on Sweet Paul's blog.  Just look at how adorable this homemade pin cushion is...
Tuesday Thought
Oh I think I need to make a couple of these!  And if you would like to make your own pin cushions too, click here for the how to.

I LOVE that you can make these in any color imaginable.  Ooh, pretty patterned ones would be fabulous - think chevron, floral, gingham, etc...  And you could even get a bit more creative and spray paint the can!

These pin cushions make a darling escort card or favor...or even stocking stuffer (okay, maybe I am getting a little ahead of myself with the last one)!

Tuesday Thought: Painted Pots & Lots of Thoughts

So sorry my dears ~ I thought I had scheduled this for earlier today...and just realized I didn't!  Eeks...it's late, but here it is...

Hello loves!  How is your Tuesday going so far?  Fabulous, I hope.  Mine is busy, a good busy!  And can you believe it - we are supposed to get some rain today!  Rain in Northern California, in June - doesn't happen all that often...so will see if it actually does ;-)

So I have a super simple 'Tuesday Thought' for you today.  Have a look-see at my inspiration...
Tuesday Thought
It's funny how things hit me sometimes.  And I know that we have all seen painted pots before, so I know this idea is nothing new.  But  I think they are a great idea to use at a wedding - easy and inexpensive.

So here are your 'Tuesday Thoughts'...yes, Thoughts - as you know I have a couple of them!

First 'Thought': I think painting terra cotta pots in your wedding colors and then using them as centerpieces is a fabulous idea.  You can use a glossy paint, or a matte one - your choice as either would work, and you can paint them any color you want - either a variety of colors, or all one color for a more dramatic look.  Just have a bigger pot in the middle with some smaller pots around planted with flowers, herbs or plants.  You could always use the tiny ones to hold candles if you'd like.  Also, the tiny ones would look darling planted and use as place cards.  Plus, I like the idea of having a couple of the small pots stacked upside down (as they are above) on the table - they would be perfect to hold a table number that has been attached to a branch/stick...just stick the stick in the hole.  Or you could even stick a flag with the table number on it - just some extra fun, cute ideas.  And you know how much I LOVE moss!  I would love to see them filled with moss with pinwheels in the as a fun and whimsy centerpiece.  Granted you don't want painted pot overload so use care, but I do think they could be quite lovely.

Second 'Thought':  I think the smaller pots would looking darling in your wedding colors, stacked upside down on your dessert table to have your guests fill with sweets and take home!  As for the hole in the bottom (if there is one), well I would just use a piece of paper in a coordinating color, punch using a circle punch and with a glue dot or two adhere to the bottom of the pot.

Third 'Thought':  They are always darling planted with flowers, herbs or plants and used as escort cards!

Fourth and final 'Thought' for today:  I would LOVE to see the small painted pots hanging as decor - they'd be a fabulous pop of color from above.  And for all the tall people, like me, just make sure to hang them high enough so people don't hit their heads!

There are lots of other darling ways these pots can be incorporated into weddings - like planted with flowers, herbs or a plant for a favor, filled with a pretty bag of dirt and some seeds for your guests to plant their own...  Get creative loves and see what 'thoughts' pop into your pretty little head!  Ooh, I'd love to hear about them too ;-)

Tuesday Thought: Summer Camp

So I decided that I would continue on with this Summer theme ;-)  And what's more Summer than camp?

I used to go to camp every year and loved it!  I remember going to horsemanship camp (yes, there was such a thing) for a couple of years when I was older, and it was by far my fave.  We all were given a horse at the beginning of the week, and it was our job to take care of it for the week.  Plus we rode in the morning and afternoon.   We also made crafts, swam each day at the pool, had ice cream sundaes, ate every meal outside and had bonfires, sang camp songs and ate s'mores at night...ahhhh what amazing memories I have from camp!

Alrighty, enough about my adventures of camp and onto today's thought already.  Have a look-see at this picture I ran across on Poppytalk about a month ago, and saved just for today...
Tuesday Thought
Darling, no?  I really L-O-V-E it!  Of course, it also got lots of thoughts swirling around in my head...

So here is your Tuesday Thoughts for today...as I have a couple of them:  First, wouldn't this silhouette be cute for a list of your bridesmaids at a camp themed wedding?  It wouldn't be too difficult to make.  Have a silhouette cut out, paint with chalkboard paint and write on the names of your girls, and don't forget to make one for the boys as well!

Another thought that popped into my head immediately was creating something similar to use for escort cards.  You can make any silhouette that you like...I would love to see different shapes cutout, painted and with a list of names of your guests and the table they are to sit at.  You could really get creative with the shapes too.  And they would look so darling all lined up, or nailed to a tree!

Also how fun would it to be use this for a bachelorette weekend!  Send invites on silhouette shaped cards, have your girls divided into bunks/cabins/tents, and you could even have some teams for some sporting fun like badminton, bocce ball or croquet, followed by cocktails on the lawn!  Oh now I would LOVE to create something like this...hmmm, I think I see a Summer photo shoot coming..hint, hint ;-)

Hey, it's Summer - so have some fun, and get creative!

Tuesday Thought: Ring Holder

Good morning darlings!  How has your morning been going so far?  Mine has been busy, but I like busy.  Plus it's supposed to get a little toasty here today, 84 is what they are predicting, so I see a nice long walk after a light dinner later...which always makes me happy ;-)

So are you ready for your "Tuesday Thought' for today?  I have to tell you - I am loving this thought ;-)  Have a look-see at what inspired me...
Homemade
A vintage tin filled with moss - L-O-V-E!  And anyone that knows me, knows I LOVE moss and vintage...and this picture has both...so of course I had to think of some way in which to actually use something just like this.  And then it hit me...

So here is your Tuesday Thought for today:  Use this moss filled vintage tin to hold the rings!  The ring bearer could hold this tin with the rings attached as he walks up the aisle - cute, no?  Just add a small stick, stake or even a pretty pin to attach some ribbon or twine and the rings too and you'll be good to go.
