Fantasy Friday: My Wish List

Hiya lovelies!  Happy Friday to you.  I am so tickled that Friday has finally arrived - after having to go to the doctor...yep, I finally did, and being put on antibiotics and told to TAKE IT EASY (which I have been doing...from bed...hence all the pinning that I have still been doing)  I am looking forward to this weekend.

This weekend is my cousin Cass' 70's inspired birthday party on Saturday.  And any party that Cass is involved in is guaranteed to be a good time.  I offered up my disco ball for the event...and I hear that we get to learn the hustle under it - see told you good times ;-)  While I will most definitely make it to the party, partying will most likely not be happening from me ;-(  I guess I can go home early with Aunt Millie and play some cards, then it will be off to bed...and if I am really lucky I will be able to sleep til noon!

Anyhoo, after last week's 'Fantasy Friday' I have a whole list of things for this week...and they are all things that I would love to have...but funny enough, as I can always spin things, they would work for weddings too...I'll just tell you how - HA!  So let's get on with it, and start with that dress I featured last Friday.  The more and more I looked at it, the more and more I loved it ;-)  And in my searches I just happened to come across a top that made me do a double take.  Here, have a look-see for yourselves lovelies...
Fantasy Friday
I would so wear this Madewell top for a bridal luncheon, shower, or paired with a skirt or sleek cream slacks it would be perfect for a rehearsal dinner too.  And after all the wedding events, it would always look darling with cutoff shorts and sandals for summer and of course, jeans and heels.  Oh and the top is on sale right now too ;-)  You can get it right HERE!

Moving right along...I still have gold on my brain.  So when I ran across this bottle opener (which I am in desperate need of one that actually works), it was love at first sight...
Gifts
It's sleek, simple stylish and works - what more could you ask for?  Plus, I think it would make an awesome gift for the groomsmen, don't you?

And speaking of gold, I still am in LOVE with this Rag & Bone knitted metallic sweater...
rag-and-bone
It just looks like the perfect layering piece...with a bit of glam ;-)  However, I think simple dresses for the bridesmaids would look lovely with this sweater thrown over as the night cools!  Add a brown belt to tuck the sweater into a bit and your girls would be good to go.  Need a visual on the look I am describing, then have a look-see at THIS.

I also fell in love with Kate Spade's gold hedgehog coin purse...
kate-spade
Quirky - absolutely ;-)  Kinda like me...that's probably why I love it.  Yet, the gold glams it up a big...and I love a bit of glam.  And I think it would be a fun gift for your event designer (if you decide on giving them a gift), like me...hehe!

Finally, these crown hairpins from Dariami on Etsy are just DARLING...
Crowns
And while they are on my wish list, I really would love them sitting on my dresser, even if I never wear them, as a reminder that we all deserve to wear crowns, no?  However, they would be fabulous for the flower girl to wear ;-)

Wow, I think I could really get used to a weekly wish list post.  Hmm, I think I will start doing it on Luna and Chloe Style - my long lost all things non-wedding related blog (interior design, fashion, etc...)...which I have been missing posting on...just another thing to add to my list!

Anyhoo lovelies - Happy Friday and wishing you a wonderful weekend!  Hope you enjoyed your week, and thanks for indulging me in my wish list ;-)

Handcrafted: Infinity Bracelet

I am loving this handcrafted infinity bracelet by Mesa Blue on Etsy...
Handcrafted
They would make fabulous gifts for the girls, don't you think?  I love that you are able to choose from a variety of colors (black, green, violet, blue, turquoise, white, etc...) for the leather straps, and either gold or silver for the infinity.  So lots of choices means something for everyone ;-)  Oh and each bracelet is custom made...so different sizes are not a problem!

LCW Style: Now This is My Kind of Apron

So yesterday I get an e-mail from my sissy with a link, and when I clicked on the link it took me to this...
cookie7
And this...
cookie8
And this...
cookie9
From the first second I laid eyes on the first two I was in L-O-V-E, and said - oooh it looks like a wedding dress.  Wouldn't it make the PERFECT gift for a bride?  It would definitely give her a good reason to cook...hehe ;-)  However, in my house you might just catch me wearing it around house...even if I'm not cooking!

The aprons are made by a company in Poland called Cookie, and are made from a thick natural cotton.  I love how the COOKIE letters are sewn onto the bottom of each apron - such a fabulous detail!  And I think it's about time aprons make a comeback, don't you?

P.S. - THANK YOU sissy!!! 1.4.3. to the moon and back ;-)

Something Sparkly

This post is LONG overdue!  I am not kidding here...like should have done this post months ago.  And I have been feeling guilty that I just haven't done it yet.  I know that I have been insanely busy, averaging about 4 hours of sleep a night (if I'm lucky), but still when a thank you is due it should be given immediately.  Where are my manners?  I pride myself on my manners.  I ALWAYS say thank you...it's just part of who I am.  But it is obvious my manners have gone out the window...hmmm I think they might have taken my sleep with them....still no excuse.  So before my guilt eats me up anymore - I am FINALLY going write this post, and say the long over due thank you today.

About two months ago (eeks, has really has been that long - how awful of me) I received an e-mail from the offices of Elva Fields.  Yes, THE Elva Fields.  I have professed my LOVE for her creations a handful of times (and I am sure there will be a handful more to come) here at LCW, so in appreciation of my posts Elva Fields' office said they would be sending me 'something sparkly'.  Really, me?  A gift?  OMGoodness - waiting for the 'something sparkly' felt like I was waiting for Christmas morning when I was a kid!

And when my Christmas morning (well it was really afternoon) came, and I received the pretty little package with 'something sparkly' - guess what was inside?  These...
jesu11_3_soleil_large
Gorgeous, no?  I am OVER THE MOON about them.  They have already become my FAVORITE pair.  They are just the perfect dainty size...but with the bling in the middle they are noticeable, but not over the top.  I wear them almost everyday because they are just that fabulous.

Golly, I sure am one lucky girl for getting a gift like this.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ELVA FIELDS for the extremely generous gift!  And please accept my apology for taking so long in getting this thank you to you!

Oh and if you're looking for bridesmaids gifts these would be perfect for your girls...they will love them ;-)

***Note to self:  Write the thank you immediaetly, and try to NEVER let this happen again!

Doesn't that popsicle look delicious?  I would love one right now ;-)  And here's a sweet treat for your guests to take home...
Details
I am adoring the 'White Sugar' soap in the lavender paper, aren't you?  They would make fabulous favors at a bridal shower, or gifts at a bridesmaids luncheon!

Tuesday Thought: Life Is Beautiful

Happy Tuesday loves!  I am excited it's Tuesday today, as I am loving my thought for today.  To be honest, I had a couple of different thoughts for this week, but I decided on this one...so I hope you like it as much as me ;-)  Have a look-see at my inspiration...
Tuesday Thought
I ran across this quote/print and it just brightened my day!  As Life Is Beautiful, no?  And what's more beautiful than a wedding?  So, of course, it got my brain spinning...as lots of thinks do ;-)

So here is your Tuesday Thought for today:  How fabulously fun would it be to give a small print of an inspiration quote/thought as a favor at your wedding!?!  Or even a picture of something that inspires you.

Your guests could take it home, frame it (or put it on the fridge, or desk...) and will always be inspired and remember what a special day it was.  Now, I am not saying to use the print above...it is just what inspired my thought, so I thought I should share it with you.  And as I just typed that...it made me think that the image above would make darling notecards...and notecards would definitely be a darling gift as well!  A great bridesmaids gift.  Okay, sorry...gotta a little sidetracked...just how my brain works ;-)

Anyhoo, what I love about this idea, is it is something that you could create on your own.  A DIY.  Granted, you could always find one too, but a homemade one would be wonderful.  Then you can take it to the printer, have them print it up and cut to size.  All you would have to do is roll them up, tie them with a ribbon/twine and add a small note for your guests and voila!  A very personal gift to your guests that just might inspire them on a day when they need it most!

Homemade: Pin Cushions

Happy Thursday my darlings!  Today's 'Homemade' post is a spin off of this guest post I did for the oh so sweet Gaby of Cap Classique.  If you missed it you must have a look-see, as there are some simple and cute ideas ;-)

So as you might have guessed by the title (hehe) today's homemade project is pin cushions!  While I used store bought pin cushions as escort cards for the post I did for Gaby - I have to tell you...I am OVER THE MOON about the homemade ones I stumbled across on Sweet Paul's blog.  Just look at how adorable this homemade pin cushion is...
Tuesday Thought
Oh I think I need to make a couple of these!  And if you would like to make your own pin cushions too, click here for the how to.

I LOVE that you can make these in any color imaginable.  Ooh, pretty patterned ones would be fabulous - think chevron, floral, gingham, etc...  And you could even get a bit more creative and spray paint the can!

These pin cushions make a darling escort card or favor...or even stocking stuffer (okay, maybe I am getting a little ahead of myself with the last one)!

Bridesmaids Gift: Getting Knotty

Hehe - how about that for a title?  And I just have to laugh - as now every time I hear or think of the word knotty/naughty it reminds me of the fabulous Alison of The Knotty Bride!  Oh tell me it isn't the same for you!

Anyhoo, where were we - oh yes, bridesmaid gifts.  I ran across this fabulous bracelet, and fell in love with it's simplicity and nautical feel...
E-White-Knot
And wouldn't it make the perfect bridesmaids gift for your girls?  And if the bracelet isn't doing it for you (hehe), then how about this necklace...
E-Teal-Knot
How gorgeous is the teal color on this one?  Eeks - love!  But there are lots of other colors and styles available.  And another fabulous thing - she does custom orders.  You have to love that.  Plus, I just HAD to include these next two as their name is Luna Rope Necklace!  Here is Luna in Green Haze...

Homemade: Fabric Bows

Happy Thursday darlings!  How fabulous are these homemade bows...
Homemade
Eeks - I am loving the materials they are made out of...burlap, linen and cotton!  And to make you really only need some material (of course), pinking shears (scissors would work just fine), a stapler and a glue gun...really that's it!  Check out the step by step DIY right here.  I so need to try making these ASAP!

I want to try making smaller ones which would be perfect to adorn escort cards, and I want to see if I can make big ones for decoration...my head is spinning already with ways in which to use ;-)

Wrap Me Up

Whew - thank goodness it's Friday!  I have to tell you...cat sitting for two weeks, then puppy sitting for a week, and now that it's Friday I am officially off of puppy duty as of this morning.  However, I am babysitting tonight for some friends, and once I am done with that I CANNOT wait until I can wrap myself up in my cozy's later on and get snuggly!

However, if I had a pretty robe like this...
Gifts
Or this...
Gifts
Or this...
Gifts
I would most definitely be wrapping myself up in it!

How perfect would these stylish and cozy robes be as bridesmaids gifts for your girls?  You could choose either one style for all the girls, or choose one for each girl.  No matter how you choose, you really can't go wrong.

What I love about Doie's robes so much is that one size fits most, so it makes it easy to order and you don't have to guess on your girls sizes.  Also, they are super soft, made with sustainable materials like bamboo jersey and silk...and they are made right here in California - seriously, gotta love that!  And really, they are fabulous gifts for the girls.

I always love pictures of the Bride and her girls getting ready wearing similar or the same outfits - it's a bonding experience really.  The getting ready time is such a fabulous time of your big day...why not look fabulous during it?

***And they are offering discounts for Brides!
Save 15% off on 3 or more, 25% off on 5 or more, 35% off on 8 or more.***

So head on over to Doie and have a look-see, as there are more styles and colors to choose from!

P.S. - And I think I am taking a 'sitting' break for awhile. It's funny how friends and family have come to rely on me to take care of their pets (as I am a HUGE pet lover), and when Summer roles around, I have to tell you I am always busy as everyone is taking vacation. I had one day off between the cat and then the dog...hey at least I got a day ;-)  However, with getting Over The Moon Vintage Rentals up and running and blogging on OTMVR and LCW...I have NO time for anything else these days!  I hope now that all this sitting is done for awhile...to get back to comments and some Twitter time...as I miss seeing all the lovely and my friends!!!  Hope everyone has a calm and cozy weekend!  See you back here on Sunday for some sweetness ;-)

Just June

Ahhh June, you've finally arrived.  I am just so tickled that you're finally here.  I sure am hoping that you've brought Summer with you, as I am in desperate need of some warm weather!  I guess time will tell.  In the meantine though, this sunflower is definitely brightening my day...
Color
...and makes such a lovely Summer palette.  The sunny yellow color reminded me of a couple of my favorite things from one of my favorite stores, Terrain!  And then I realized that these things would be wonderful gift options for a June bride and groom...so I thought I would share these sunny options with you.  First up, is this watercolor tumbler...
On the Table
Isn't it lovely?  They are a bit pricey at $68.00 each...but the tumblers are made of hand blown glass, and each one is individually shaped by hand by artist Lynn Read in Portland.  Purchase two and your gift for the bride and groom is complete.  However, I would add a recipe card with my favorite Summer cocktail on it.  I think they would make such a special gift...not to mention they are the perfect shade of yellow!

Secondly, and also in the perfect shade of yellow are these enamelware dinner plates...
On the Table
And dessert plates...
On the Table
Being enamelware makes them the perfect option for outdoor picnics, as they are lightweight and durable.  Again, you could always add your favorite picnic recipe with them to make it a little more personal.  So there you have it my dears - a couple of sunny options that are sure to brighten anyone's day!

Happy first day of June!  Wishing you the start of a very lovely Summer ;-)

Decorate Yourself: Bangles and Bracelets and a Necklace - Oh My!

I am adoring these leather and gemstone bangles from The Vamoose in chalk turquoise and pink marble...
Gifts
I am loving the name 'chalk turquoise', aren't you?  However,  if the leather above is a bit on the casual side for you, these gemstone and metal bracelets in peach quartz, pale grey riverstone and lemon chrysoprase might be more your style...
Gifts
I would love to see a handful of these gemstone and metal bracelets piled on...fun, no?  Whether you do a variety of colors or make a statement with all one color you really can't go wrong with these lovelies.

Either one you choose would be perfect gifts for your girls, or would be lovely to wear yourself on your wedding day!  And the great thing about these bangles is that you would definitely wear them again ;-)

P.S. - However, I have to tell you that I love acorns for some reason...I don't collect them or want to collect them, but I do adore them in decorations and details!  And this acorn and silk cord necklace is screaming my name...
Jewelry
Definitely how I would be decorating myself today!  But you have to admit...it would look cute at a woodsy wedding, no?

Locket Love

I was thrilled when I ran across these vintage lockets...
Gifts
And I think they would make gorgeous gifts for your bridesmaids, for your wedding day or after.  Each locket opens to hold two photographs, mementos or love notes.  It be perfect to hold a picture of your sweetheart and a petal from your bouquet after your wedding day, no?

The vintage floral wallpaper, peacock on a branch and the butterfly gallery set lockets are just a few of my faves for under $40.00 each.  However, there are lots of other fabulous designs available.  So head on over to Verabel on Etsy to have a look-see at all the other options.  I am sure you will find something you like, and even if they aren't your style...Mother's Day is just around the corner.  Happy shopping my dears!

Handmade: Leather Gifts for the Boys and the Girls

It seems like I have been all about flowers, bouts, and gifts this week...so why not continue on with some more gift ideas!  While these ideas are not homemade by me, they are definitely handmade by two vendors on Etsy...which is close enough for me ;-)

I have to tell you that one of my favorite blog's is Wit + Delight.  Every.single.time I visit Kate's blog I am so inspired.  Kate always finds the best things, and does such lovely posts.  Plus, I love the layout of her blog...which is so unique!  I finally had the chance to catch up on her blog last night, when I ran across two items she posted that I immediately loved.  Not only did I love them, but I thought they would make wonderful gifts!  And since they both are made with leather, I thought why not combine the post and show that you can incorporate one item, leather in this case, into gifts for both the boys and the girls.

Have a look-see at this gift idea for the boys (even though I am sure the girls would love too)...
Gifts
A custom- made 6 Pack Frame Cinch by Walnut Studiolo in Oregon.  Seriously, are you kidding me!!!  How fabulous is this???  For all those bike riding loving boys (and girls), there couldn't be a more perfect gift!  Well, I am sure there could be...but this is pretty fantabulous, no?  And just wait til you hear the price!  Are you ready?  It's $22.00!

And this gift idea for the girls...
Gifts
I can't tell you how much I L-O-V-E this classic stripe make-up bag right now.  It is the perfect Spring into Summer bag.  It is a make-up bag, but I would so use it as a purse.  I adore the worn leather on the bottom and the simple striped fabric on the top.  It would look fabulous just folded over, kinda like it is, and carried as a clutch!  And you have to love that it is made from vintage finds...so very eco-friendly, which is always a plus, no?  Granted, it might not have the initial impact as the gift for the boys, but the girls would get to carry it everyday, so really it is much more useful!  The bag is made by Scout and Catalogue on Etsy.  They are on vacay for the month of April, but I'll be sure to have a look-see at their new items come May.  They have lots of fabric options, make-up bags and pouches (as they call them..but are purses) and their scarves are pretty darn fabulous too!

Over the Moon

...about the gold coin necklaces from Emersonmade!  Honestly, this little darling can do no wrong in my book.  Just look at her creations...
Gifts
Gifts
I love that 4 of the 6 coins come with Latin phrases on them.  The dragonfly coin (above) phrase means:  I shall either find a way or make a way!  So my motto these days.  Just a lovely positive thought, no?  And look how darling they look on...
IMG_2081-3
Plus you could always wear it as a bracelet too - you know how I love options!  Oh, I think these would definitely be a hit with your bridesmaids!  You could buy them all the same one, or mix them up to fit each girl.  And with prices between $58.00 and $78.00, they won't break the bank either!  Wouldn't you love to get one?  I know I sure would...hmmm but which one?  I think I like the lion best...but I'll probably change my mind again in about five minutes ;-)  Which one do you like?

And...and...and...  Seriously, there are a handful of other lovely things that I am crazy about too...so hard to choose just a couple!

If you haven't been to Tamar's shop before, it is a must see.  I adore the vintage vibe, and that they are handmade.  Lots of darling pieces that are reasonably priced.  Not only is it perfect for a bride, but perfect for bridesmaids gifts too.  Can't you just picture the dusty rose necklace with a soft/light colored or beige bridesmaid dress?  So pretty, no?

Homemade: Sneak Peek

I am beyond tickled (and a little nervous) that not only do I get to show you a sneak peek of one of the things I have been working on, but that this will be the FIRST item in my ETSY store!!!

These would be DARLING one of a kind bridesmaids gifts, special favors for your bridesmaids who are throwing you a bridal shower, to say thank you, or just a gift to give.  I was originally going to make these as magnets, however I have decided that I will leave the option up to the buyer...you know me, I like options!  I am sure you do too ;-)  Anyway, here is your sneak peek...
Favor-Finds
A variety of vintage finds grouped together to make sets!  First let me say that I have only 4 sets (6 pieces including the salt shaker lid in each) of the above...two with the same flowers, and two others with different!  But the rest of the pieces are the same.  Each set will be sold individually.  And not only do I love the vintage salt shaker to hold a flower or two...but it is the PERFECT size to hold a pen or pencil!  And made into a magnet for the fridge...how cute would that be...to find a pen when needed...or hold a bloom to brighten your day.  The lambs are made out of wax, but they are not candles...and these little fellows run a tad on the pricey side (but still within reason).  However, with Spring coming I just couldn't resist!  I hope to have these listed in my Etsy store by Monday, February 28th.

Since every piece in this small collection is vintage, it only allows me to make as many as I can find.  I was so lucky to find four of each of these, as I love each piece.  But fear not, I am working on another collection of sets in red, with 6, that I should have ready to go by next week, and I will make sure I share those with you too!

If you are interested in something in particular, or a larger numbers of sets - please do not hesitate to contact me.  I can do custom orders by the number needed, style/theme and colors too.  Granted it might take me some time to find them...but I most likely will find something that works perfectly!

Other items will be added to my Etsy store at random.  I will be listing these Luna and Chloe original design, stitched key tags by Monday as well...
Stitched-key-tags
Along with more in a variety of colors, one letter, one number, a variety of shapes, etc... all which will be listed soon. I have a couple of other things that will be listed soon including some non-vintage items, and  I am also working on grab bag favors for use at a wedding - so cute!

Prices will start at a couple of dollars and go up from there.  So hopefully there will be a little something for everyone.  I hope you all enjoyed this sneak peek of my Etsy store!

Homemade: Heart Adorned Burlap Bags

Today's homemade project is one I created for my contributing post on Celebrations at Home.  I did an inspiration photo shoot titled:  Your Ticket to Love.  If you didn't see the post, you can right here.  With Valentine's Day just around the corner...I thought a great project for today would be the heart adorned burlap bags I made...
Heart-Bags-First
For this project you will need:
Heart Adorned Bags
~ A burlap bag...found the at Beverly's for $2.99
~ A piece of fabric
~ A heart template
~ Pencil
~ Scissors
~ Needle
~ Embroidery thread
~Batting
The first step is to trace the heart template onto the backside of your fabric with a pencil.
Heart-Bags-1
Cut out the heart.
Heart-Bags-2
Find where you want to position the heart on the bag (starting lower is better), and starting at the point of the heart sew using a backstitch. You will want to make sure that you have a large enough knot at the end so that it doesn't pull through the burlap, and be careful not to stitch too close to the edge of the fabric.
Heart-Bags-3
Continue stitching up one side until you start rounding the top corner of the heart then stop.  Stitch up the other side of the heart to the same point.  You should have an opening at the top so that you can stuff the heart with batting.  ***Note:  I did it this way so that you can put a tag with a name on it coming out of the heart, or a small sprig of flowers, or a love note...then I forgot and finished it without a picture of it.  Oopsies.
Heart-Bags-4
Next you will need to pull the batting apart so it is easier to work with.  Working with smaller sized pieces, stuff the heart to the desired thickness.
Heart-Bags-5
Lastly, finish stitching the heart starting from the point where the heart meets at the top.  I found that starting in the middle avoids having folds or bunching on one side of the heart and not the other.
Heart-Bags-6
And viola!
Heart-Bags-7
Honestly, I really do not know how to sew that well (that is a talent that both my mom and sissy have, but not me).  So if I can do this...so can you!  Actually I liked the heart more when the lines weren't perfectly straight, and the stitch size were a bit different...it adds to the homemade feel, especially since it's on burlap.

What I really love about this project is that these bags can be used in so many ways!  While they are the perfect size to hold cupcakes in crowns as favors, there are lots of other way to use too.  Since the bags come with a plastic liner you can fill them with a variety of things...including flowers or a plant for centerpieces, to hold treats in as gift bags for guests, favor bags for a wedding or party, to give a Valentine's Day present in, to hold utensils, or (like me) to have on my desk filled with items such as pencils, scissors, etc...  And just think if you changed out the fabric, or the shape of the heart...it can be used at any time of year.  I am sure you will be seeing these bags in a photo shoot again!

Cake Topper
Are all so adorable for a rustic, outdoorsy theme!  The pouches would be a great gift idea for the girls.  Or even to hold a piece of jewelry you would like them to wear at the wedding.

As for the wrens, I would love to see them hanging from tree branches...either at the table, or outside.  However, they would make adorable escort and seating cards!  Oh, they would be FABULOUS cake toppers hanging from a branch atop your cake!  So many patterns to choose from...either one or a variety and so many fun was to use...  All can be found at Sea Pinks Etsy shop!
