Inspired By: A Print

Hiya lovelies!  I am running way behind today...so sorry ;-)  But I do want to try and get this post and my Handcrafted post that I have up before the end of the day today...I will try my best!

It's been a bit since my last 'Inspired By' post...so I figured it was about time I did one.  So here goes ;-)  I think this cake...

I know, I know...I just posted this print yesterday with a color palette...but I gotta tell you lovelies - ALL WEEK LONG I have been seeing this color palette...from cakes to feathers and everything in between.  I was trying really hard not to post anything in this color palette again this week, but when I remembered that fabulous cake...I just couldn't help myself.  So forgive the duplicate print post...but it is just such a perfect match for that cake I HAD too post it again!

Tuesday Shoesday #47: Glitter Everywhere

Happy first day of November darlings!  So tell me - did you have a happy Halloween?  Mine was quite nice...mellow with a handful of trick or treaters, and one of the cutest little firemen I ever did see ;-)

Anyhoo, now that Halloween has passed I can start thinking glitter,sparkle and shine as the holidays approach.  And I can't help but love these Hunter Glitter Wellington Boots...

And I would love to be wearing them while eating this fabulous glitter cake by desserts for breakfast...

A match made in glitter heaven, no?  I think I just might need those wellies as it's supposed to rain here on Friday...hey, need to keep my tooties dry ;-)

Ah yes, this is just what I needed to get me in the mood to start thinking about the holidays.  Glitter on girls!

Tuesday Shoesday #46: Marveously Metallic

Good morning sweetpeas!  Are you ready for another installment of Luna and Chloe Wedding's Tuesday Shoesday?  Well I hope so, as I think mine are extra sweet...hehe.

I ran across this darling pair of Chloe metallic leather ballerina flats...

And couldn't help but think they would make fabulous dancing shoes!  But here is the sweet part - then I ran across this oh so fabulous metallic cake...

And thought that they sure do make a great pair, don't you think?  Yes, pun absolutely intended...ha.  But I do love how both of them are low and sleek.  Plus, I love the detailing on the shoe, and the cake stand - they are just fabuous together too.  And speaking of fabulous - how about that cake?  Seriously, have you ever seen anything so marevelously metallic?  I just can't stop staring at it...however, I think a slice of it would stop that ;-)

Tuesday Shoesday #42: Terracotta & Flowers

Good Tuesday Shoesday to you my dears!  Since last Friday was the first day of Fall, I thought that I should post some Fall inspired shoes ;-)  And what's more Fall than a pair of rusty orange terracotta colored suede Giuseppe Zanotti's...

Eeks - this color is sooo my sister ;-)  I can't wear this color, except on my feet, but my sister looks fabulous in it! 

Anyhoo, while these shoes are quite a statement, I don't think you would want a terracotta colored cake!  But have no fear darlings, as you can bring in little punches of this terracotta color in in the form of flowers...

Paired with some golden yellows and soft greens, it is perfect for an early Fall affair!  I love how the shoes and flowers are both cutouts, don't you?  Eeks - I heart details...in case you didn't know ;-)

Tuesday Shoesday #40:

Good morning darlings ;-) 

I have to tell you that I was supposed to be doing my Inspiration to Creation post this week - and with everything that's been going on here lately...I just need some breathing time...so I decided to take my extra time this week, which was supposed to be putting together extra posts all week long for the Inspiration to Creation week, and take care of me by going for a walk, doing some yoga and pilates - all things that make me feel good and that I haven't been doing for weeks now.  I haven't been doing a great job of taking care of me lately ;-)  But I will this week!  So I will have the Inspiration to Creations posts all ready to go next week for you. 

Goodness, I keep telling you I am going to do something and then don't do it - which I NEVER do.  But with all that's happening around here, extras like Luna and Chloe Handcrafted (which is definitely happening on Thursday this week!!!) and Inspiration to Creation posts get pushed back.  So now I made a promise to myself that I am not going to say anything in advance, and instead just do it...or at least get it done and then tell you it's coming ;-)

And you know what darlings?  I already started taking care of me with a little shopping.  Hmmm - that's taking care of me right?  I know you are saying yes right now...hehe.  And since today is Tuesday and I'm doing some shopping I would like a pair of these please...

3.1 Phillip Lim Regine sandal  in the prettiest shade of emerald.  How AMAZING would these be for a Fall wedding?  Or any season really...gorgeous for Winter, so Spring, and a great pop in Summer ;-)  Oooh, and do I have the perfect cake for these lovelies.  Have a look-see at this...

Yes, I know I have posted this cake before in a color post...but I LOVE it....I really, really do.  The minute I saw the shoes I knew this cake would be the perfect match. The repeating pattern on the shoes (the detail going up the front) and the cake, the color - sure do make a pretty match, no?  Plus, I would be oh so tempted to paint my toenails white just for fun, and just in case my pinky toe slipped out!

Darling Detail No. 23: Snowflakes

Okay, so I know I am getting ahead of myself on this one a bit ;-)  But I know there are lots of winter brides out there that would still have time to add this detail into their rustic winter wonderland wedding!

I think these snowflake topped cakes are just darling...

I adore details like this, don't you?  And I am loving the sugar coating on the cake and snowflake in the first picture...makes it look like it's just snowed!  Eeks - these DETAILS are making me smile ;-)

Tuesday Shoesday #39: Gold Glitter Goodness

How about some glittery goodness to start out your morning this morning loves?  Since we are now in September, and September brings the official start of Fall, I think these gold glitter Miu Miu's would add just the right amount of golden sparkle to a Fall wedding...

And granted, while you might want to make a statement with glitter all over your feet, I think a subtle hint of glitter on your cake would make just as much a statement, don't you?

And let's be honest - would you really want to eat a cake that was covered in gold glitter?  Eeks, I don't really think I would.  Granted I know it's edible, but the thought of eating lots of it just doesn't seem that appetizing to me.  However, a hint of gold glitter would be fine with me.  How about you my dears - what are your thoughts?

Tuesday Shoesday #38: On the Diagonal

In Yves Saint Laurent's black and white suede and patent leather wedges...

And with this black and white cake by Sweetapolita...

Eeks ~ how fabulous is this match up today my dears?  I love how the wedges are a mary jane...which adds a vintage vibe, yet they are still kind of modern.   As with the cake, it's the pearl detail that gives it a vintagey vibe.  And did you notice how the white on the shoes, pairs up perfectly with the white on the cake?  A match made in shoe/cake heaven, no?

Tuesday Shoesday #36: Marvelous Metallic

Eeks - running a bit late again this morning loves!  Hope your morning is a good one.  I can't believe that I am actually going to say this...but I am thinking about Fall!  I know, I am so not ready for it.  Yet, when I ran across these Christian Louboutin metallic pumps...

...I couldn't help but think how marvelous they would be for a Fall wedding ;-)  The bronze color is such a gorgeous color, and would add such a rich and glamorous feel.  And I found the perfect cake to go along with them!  Have a look-see at this loveliness created by the insanely talented Melody of My Sweet & Saucy...

Both are soft and rich and smooth and not over done.  A perfect match if there ever was one, no?

Tuesday Shoesday # 35: Red and White

Happy Tuesday loves!  Forgive me for my little disappearing act over the last week and a half...as my family was in town from Florida.  And then this past weekend I was a vendor at Fizz and Frills, a pop up shop hosted by Wilmarose of Lovely Jubilee, and Henny and Lucia of Utterly Engaged.  The event was held at Hazel's event studio, Blu Bungalow in San Francisco, and was absolutely FABULOUS!  I was so delighted I decided to be a vendor at the event.  It was a lot of work getting ready for, but I loved every minute of it.

However, for some unknown reason I thought I would be able to do spend time with my family, get ready for the event, and still be able to do my twice daily posts...what was I thinking?  Yet, now I know better for next time ;-)  I do have to tell you that I missed you, and so very happy to be back.

And while I know it is going to take me a day or two to get back into the swing of things around here...as I am still absolutely in over my head with stuff to do (like unload my car from this weekend, answer e-mails from the past two weeks, deliver vintage rentals for a school auction, take my mom to the airport super early tomorrow morning, take pictures of all my homemade items to upload onto OTM's website, as well as see the first look of OTM's website - just to name a few things!)...I do have a Tuesday Shoesday post for you today. 

 How about a fun and cheery pair of Miu Miu's in a bold color to have peeking out from under your dress...

I love how both the shoes and cake have lots of color in the center, and then are edged...one in white patent, the other in red and white stripes.  A great summer combo, no?

Tuesday Shoesday #34: Simply Stylish

I am loving this little match up for today.  I am all about simple this week, and when I ran across these Chloe wedges I thought they would be a wonderful choice for a simply stylish bride...

And then I ran across this fabulous cake, and I thought the same thing - simply stylish...

With just the perfect amount of detail.  I love the grain of the wood on the heel of the wedge, just as much as I love the doily detail around the 1st and 3rd tier bottoms of the cake.  So what do you think my dears?  Simply stylish?

LCW's First Annual Cake Week: Day 4

Hi darlings!  So here we are on 'Day 4' already...goodness it's gone by so quick it seems.  Today I don't have four cakes for you, but I do have a fabulous four tiered cake that I just ADORE!  Which is just as good, right?  Here is 'My Sweet Love'...

I love everything about this cake...the four tiers, the smaller base and the height, the sweet details, the real flowers on top and the darling garland! 

Tell me my darlings - how many tiers do you like?  Do you like a larger cake base, or a smaller more tall one?  And I noticed that all the cakes I posted so far are white...would you do a color?  Would love to hear all your lovely thoughts...so do share ;-)

LCW's First Annual Cake Week: Day 3

Eeks - yesterday was two cakes for the second day of Cake Week, and today is three cakes for the third day of Cake Week...I swear I did NOT plan this!  It just so happened to work out that way, and I am liking it ;-)

Why is it that sometimes the simplest designs can be the most stunning?  I love that each has a different number of tiers.  I also love that each has it's own branches and blooms.  Talk about detail...

LCW's First Annual Cake Week: Day 1

Welcome loves to LCW's First Annual Cake Week!  I figured since my birthday was yesterday, and my sister's is today - why not just make this whole week cake week!  Sounds fabulous, no?  Ooh and delicious too.  So every week of our birthdays, from here on out, it will be 'Cake Week'.  Why?  Cause you can never have too much cake, can you?

So let's kick off this week with one of my faves, shall we?  Have a look-see at this deliciousness...

OVER THE MOON is the only way to describe this cake.  Ooh, the blue color is one of the most dreamy colors ever, and paired with the gold and silver it is simply divine!  A great cake to start off LCW's 'Cake Week', no?
