Geometric

Triangles have never looked so pretty...
Stationery
Wouldn't you agree?  And while I am not usually a geometric loving girl, I do have to admit I love the clean simple lines and the color of these.

P.S. - I must be on a triangle kick...the teepee earlier, and now these...I guess it just a triangle kind of day!

Homemade: Spool Invites

How is your Thursday going so far loves?  Fabulous I hope!  Mine started off a little slow and running behind, but I am definitely on track now ;-)  I think it's the weather here.  We went from a high in the 90's last week to yesterday with a high of 71 and today 72!  Not normal for July in Northern California.  However it is nice to get a break from the heat...but it somehow throws me off a bit.  I know the heat is going to start back up on Sunday, so I think I am going to try and enjoy this little cool streak.

Anyhoo loves - I have a darling homemade post for you today.  No, it's not my own...but it sure is super cute!  PERFECT for a bridal shower.  I stumbled across this fabulous idea via Creature Comforts (love Ez's blog), who found it on Casey's lovely little blog called My Life as a Sugar Lander.

Casey created these DARLING invites for a craft party that I just LOVE!  Here have a look-see for yourself...
Homemade
Darling, no?

Yet, I think these would make wonderful invites for a bridal shower or bridesmaids lunch!  However, you could always turn them into save the dates instead of invites too ;-)  Instead of scissors at the top, have an illustration of a knot or whatever your pretty little imaginations can dream up!

This is one invite that I am sure, at some point, I will make.

P.S. - This is a cute for baby shower too...announcing whether it's a boy or girl...or even announcing you are expecting!

Chicago Love Story

How fabulous is this invitation suite?
Stationery
Oh so fabulous.  I adore the color palette, the reply postcard and the fun faves to see while in chicago..yes, deep dish pizza is a MUST.  However, the marquee with their names and date is my FAVE - so creative and fun!  This is definitely a wedding I would love to attend.  And I would love to see their names in lights, wouldn't you?

Over the Moon

Eek!  Pink- check.  Burlap - check.  Mason jars - check.  Me over the moon - CHECK!  This invitation suite has it all...
Stationery
Isn't it just fabulous?   I love everything about this suite.

There are two wonderful bloggers I know that I think would love this - Erin at Sparkle and Hay who loves all things rustic and chic and whose bouquet I posted earlier today, and Jacin at Lovely Little Details who loves mason jars...and does a post every Sunday called Mason Jar Sunday.  So if you love this invitation suite too, then be sure to check out both of their blogs for more fabulous inspiration!

Oh my goodness, aren't these the cutest things ever?  Seriously, I am over the moon about them!  And to top it all off...why yes, then can be used as pocket squares on the big day...

...or for guests to dry their tears of joy.  The perfect souvenir for guests I think!  And I just have to give you the definition of souvenir because it is so fitting:

sou·ve·nir
1.  a usually small and relatively inexpensive article given, kept, or purchased as a reminder of a place visited, an occasion, etc.; memento.
2.  a memory.

Makes it all the more fabulous doesn't it?  Would make wonderful Save-the-Dates too.  Love, love, love!

~ adios amigos ~

Thought this was so fitting as I am checking out for the holiday weekend...headed up to the lake last night with about 40 others for boat loads of fun!  But I just had to let you know that I am love, love, loving this...
Wedding
The differnt fonts, the layout, and especially the colors...love how they are soft and speckled...vintage looking!  And I can't help but think how fun, colorful and amazing this would look as a save the date or even wedding invitation.  Couldn't you just see your names instead of adios amigos?  Love it!

Ta ta for now my dears.  I hope you have an amazing holiday weekend!  I'll see you on Tuesday for sure...if not sooner!

~ inspiration: lovebirds ~

Are always adorable...
Color Palatte
Isn't this picture the sweetest?  I'm dying over the colors here!  I think this color palette would make for a bright, fun wedding palette - whether in the backyard or the tropics.  You could use the lovebirds on the invitations*, and postcards along the lines of something like these...
Color Palatte
...for save the dates (minus the wording that is...unless it's a destination wedding)!

*Note:  It would be cute to have a drawing of the lovebirds with the colors, instead of using a picture.

In A Card

Continuing on with my Etsy theme for the week...I found some lovely little things at In A Card.  These cards would be perfect for Thank You cards, special notes after the wedding to all of the people that helped make your dreams come true, or just note cards to use as you need.  You know, I miss this kind of mail.
Wedding
And to put a special little touch on just about anything - custom monogrammed stickers.
Wedding
My choices - Envelope:  Green with Envy (of course!) and Monogram:  Lace Me Up.  Just loving the names!

Informal or Formal?

What's your invitation style?  Because your invitation style will help choose the calligraphy style.  Whether it's informal or formal Barbara Callow Calligraphy has a style for you.  And she was even kind enough to break them out into one of the two groups...so helpful.

So do you have a favorite?  I like them all!

Perfect Penmanship...

Everyone says that the invitation makes the first impression and can set the tone of the wedding.  I definitely agree with this, but I also believe that the real first impression is the envelope within which that invitation comes in...in particular the writing...or in this case the calligraphy.  We all know how it feels to get the mail, see beautiful calligraphy on an invitation and a cute little stamp up in the corner - excitement.  Now, I would love to receive any one of these envelopes in my mail...

Each one of these makes a statement in its own way.  Not only that - they all would make a great first impression.  Just a little thought for today.

Because there are sooooo many options when it comes to calligraphy, I am going to do a post for each calligrapher that I like...instead of throwing a whole bunch of them at you.  Hopefully you will find the one that suits you and what you are looking for.
