~ tuesday thought: light covers ~

Yay for Tuesday!  Let me tell you - it is FREEZING here in Florida.  I'm talking high of 52 and a low in the upper 20's.  I thought it was supposed to be warm here!   Today grandma and I are watching my nephew, baby Riley.  Let me tell you - he is the cutest redheaded baby I ever did see!

Anyhow...remember last week I talked about using lampshades for boosters?  If you missed it, you can see it right here.  And I also told you that this week I was doing a spin off of that...using light covers.  I have to preface though that the pictures are not that great, nor is the styling as I was in a hurry to get this done the night before I had to leave for Florida...which I had to get up at 3:40 a.m. in order to make my flight!  So with that said, I will get on with it.  Glass light covers come in a huge variety of colors, styles and shapes - red, yellow, blue, black, etc...the options are endless.

Below, are $1.97 light covers from Home Depot.  Which could be used in a variety of ways.  One being as a base for small for a plate or small cake, but they also would look cute filled with a variety of things and used as decoration.
So there you have it - using light covers as boosters.  I will tell you that the wider the base the more stable it will be.  But by adding some glue to the tops of the glass, and to the bottom of the plates it will secure them.

  1. these are awesome kristi!! omg i had those $1.97 light covers in my old apartment and they look 1000x better used as vase!!!

  2. You're so smart! I actually like this idea much better than the lampshades (and I liked that one, too). Very cute photo shoot! Hope you're having a nice time in Florida, even if it's cold. :)

  3. Where do you come up with these ideas? I think it's something in the water... I don't know.... But it's something.... Cause .... No human can be this creative! It's not possible.... No way!!!!!

  4. wow I love how you manage to pick up so called 'ordinary' household items and turn them into something fabulous. I think you're magic xo

  5. I'm amazed at how you take the simplest of things and turn them into something of beauty!! You're a clever chicken you are!! It's like magic!
