~ details: gettin hitched ~

Vintage bikes have become so popular these days - popping up all over engagement shoots and at weddings!  It's funny to think that 10 years ago when I was married, my bike was at my wedding with a sign on the back that said "Just Married".  You see, not only was my bike a birthday present from my then boyfriend - he sent me on a scavenger hunt that involved me riding my bike to find him...and when I did he proposed.

Excuse me while I apologize to Mr. Big, as I don't really like talking about my wedding with my ex in front of him, and I know he reads my posts everyday!  So I am sorry honey...1.4.3!!!  Okay, thank you.

Anyhow, I like the use of bikes at weddings or engagement shoots...especially if they have meaning behind them!  So when I ran across these two pictures of an engagement shoot, photographed by the talented Jackie Wonders,  I feel in love with the "Gettin Hitched" sign!  Here have a look-see...
Details
Not only is the sign adorable for an engagement shoot, but the details are fabulous!  The style is fitting for the vintage bikes, the little (from what I can tell) lace detail around each card and the black rickrack just capture the whole vintage feel.

Perfection don't you think?

~ tuesday thought: floating signs ~

Wow where did the day go?  It's late...but better late than never, right?  I attended the Renegrade Craft Fair in San Francisco a few weeks back, and told myself that I needed to remember this...
Tuesday Thought
...Paper Pastries sign floating in the air at the top of this picture.  Of course in our haste to leave, I forgot to take a picture or remember (as I didn't write it down) that I thought it would be a fun idea to use at a wedding.  Then low and behold Oh Hello Friend posted this picture and it all came rushing back...my thoughts that is!

So here is your Tuesday Thought:  Have your signs, flags or table numbers floating with balloons.  I know this wouldn't work with windy conditions...but it still is a cute idea that has been done in the past, but would be cute to revive again!  I would love to see these inside a barn or high ceiling building...a couple of balloons, or even one large round one would work...floating above the tables with the table number/destination/name attached (I'd make sure it was double sided to be easy to see)!  Cute, no?  Outside I would have a sign that says this way to the wedding attached to them.  It would also be cute to have them above the head table where the bride and groom sit with a sign that has your last name, bride and groom, mr. and mrs., hitched, just married or an initial on it!

Another option would be for escort cards.  So many ways to use them here...small balloons attached to a tiny basket with the guests names on them, or attached to some twine between two trees or stakes outside...  You know the drill...get creative and see what you come up with!

P.S. - Be sure to check out Paper Pastries shop right here...they have some fabulous things!  I love their pencil sets and I want their custom hand lettered address stamp.

How cute are these hand cut letters out of a fun paisley print?

For the Mr. and the Mrs.
Wedding
I just love little details like these.  The great thing about these signs are they are attached to ribbon - which allows you to be able to hang these signs just about anywhere or attach to anything.  And wouldn't they make for a super cute picture opportunity attached to a tree (doorway, or just about anywhere else) with the Mr. and the Mrs. standing underneath?  And not just for the bride and groom...any Mr. and Mrs. could have their pictures taken too.  So cute!

Tuesday Thought: Love in the Grass

How cute is this?
Wedding
Just simply lovely!  But here's a thought:  with some wooden letters, painted in the color of your choice, you could say anything...happily ever after, over the moon, magic, or spell out your names or last name.  Oh, the options are endless.
