Good morning my dears. How's your Tuesday morning going? Lovely, I hope! Mine...I'm running just a little late this morning, but am finally getting into the swing of things. And I have a little treat for today's Tuesday Thought!
We all love a little bling don't we? And while we have been seeing chandeliers at events for some time now (which I LOVE)...I couldn't help but think how fabulously different these might look...
Light bulbs shaped like diamonds...yes, please!
I would group three of them together, hanging at different heights, for some impact! And with a hanging kit from Ikea, Target or a similar store this would be quite easy to accomplish. I picture them hanging from trees...but they would be gorgeous hanging over the head table, or anywhere else for that matter! Actually, I would love 5 of them hanging over my dining room table now that I think about it...wonder if Mr. Big would go for that? Hmmm, might have to butter him up first!
Granted these bulbs aren't like normal priced light bulbs - each one of these diamonds will set you back about $38.00...ouch! But the fact that they are something different, and I believe they would be stunning (I haven't actually seen them in person) would make up for it I think! After all they are diamonds right? And where else could you get a diamond for $38? You can get your own right here.

Happy Monday LCW readers! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! This week is just crazy busy...Monday night is Mr. Big's daughter's singing performance, Aunt Millie comes back from vacay on Tuesday...so of course I have to catch up, my mom comes in from Florida on Wednesday, we are having a dinner party at our house Thursday night, and Saturday night we are hosting the monthly poker tournament! Whew, I am tired just thinking about it!!! At this rate, it will be Fall before I know it. Heck, it is already starting to feel like Fall around here. So I thought to help get me in the mood, I would post a Fall inspired arrangement today...hope you like it...
I am loving the pops of turquoise in those berries! Aren't they just gorgeous? I wonder what a bouquet made up of those would look like? Pretty spectacular I bet! Yet...the browns, oranges, yellows, leaves and branches takes this arrangement right into Fall. So I have one last question for you...are you ready for it?

I can't tell you how much I am absolutely ADORING this cake...
It's just simply perfect! The setting, the flower colors, the fruit, the cutting board...are all just so sweet don't you think? Oh, I think the colors would be fabulous at an early Fall wedding! And all of a sudden, in the blink of an eye...I am kind of looking forward to Fall!

I know that I said my homemade post would be up late tonight...but after a crazy busy day and a dinner guest tonight...not only am I completely exhausted, but I didn't like the way my pictures came out! And the perfectionist (okay Mr. Big, I admitted it) in me just couldn't post pictures that weren't at least somewhat pretty! So I am going to retake them this weekend, and post them next Thursday! Please forgive me!!! I will however leave you with with three pictures that actually turned out - one of the before...

So I know everyone does Tuesday Shoesday...but on my other blog, luna and chloe, I usually do a Pump Day post on Wednesday. There's nothing like a pair of pumps to get you over the mid-week hump! So I figured why not do one here as well...with weddings in mind of course. Granted I have done some posts titled ~ shoe in ~ here and there...but I'm thinking a weekly post might be fun...we'll see!
Here are two options in patent leather that I am currently crushing on! Brian Atwood's nude and black drama pumps...
The black really does add some drama to them. And Miu Miu's nude and camel peep toe's with a bow...
...which are just adorable! Either pair is subtley sexy, and perfect if you like them high (both have a 5.5 inch heel and a platform). I love the vintagey, old-school charm feel of them. Both are definitely classics that you'll be able to wear again and again!

I have feeling this is going to be Cocktail Week! I hope you don't mind? Anyhow, how fun would it be to treat your (adult) guests to these cool treats...
Yummy. Wanna make your own? Here's how: Stir together 3/4 cup tequila, 1/2 cup Grand Marnier, 1/2 cup fresh lime juice, and a pinch of coarse salt in a large bowl. Cut cantaloupe and watermelon into wedges. Soak in tequila mixture for 15 minutes. Insert sticks (I think I'm on a stick kick today!) and freeze for 1 hour on a baking sheet. Serves 4-6.
But you know me and how I like options! I start to think and off I go...so here is your Tuesday Thought: Using melon balls would make another great option! Just use melon balls instead of wedges - then you can serve them in pretty little cups with a fork/skewer/toothpick or you could just add a couple to a margarita for a pop of color! Add then you could take it a step further...and use a small cookie cutter to add a shape or letter!
P.S. - Here's a little disclaimer - the melon balls/shapes are my adapted version of the original recipe, and I have not made the melon ball/shape version, but if you're only changing the shape then I don't see why it wouldn't work!

I spotted these japanese perfume sticks on Design Sponge over the weekend...
...and thought they would make perfect gifts for the girls!
Tiny perfume rollers in sleek little sticks that come with a funnel for easy refilling...gotta love that! And I couldn't help but think how much they reminded me of these stick lighters...

So I thought I would start off this week with some cocktails! A great way to start the week, don't you think? And the cocktail for today is a Sardinian Blood Orange Mojito...
A fabulous take on the original! Here's how to make your own...
Ingredients:
2 Bunches of Mint
1 Cup of Fresh Squeezed Blood Orange Juice (you can substitute Trader Joe’s Blood Orange Soda)
2 shots of Rum
2 Tablespoons of Sugar (omit if you use the TJ’s juice)
Juice of 1 Lime
1 cup of ice
1 shaker & Muddler
Methodology:
Add mint, lime juice and sugar to shaker.
Muddle the ingredients until the mint is well crushed.
Add rum, blood orange juice and ice.
Shake well and serve garnished with remaining mint and a slice of lime.

Last weekend me, Mr. Big and the kids headed up to San Francisco to check out the Renegade Craft Fair. There was a handful of fabulous booths, plus I got the opportunity to stop by and meet the lovely Megan of forget.me.knot.weddings...overall great trip!
I did, however, stumble upon prix-prix that I just had to share with you...they turn vintage ties into wallets, and I think they are pretty darn fabulous...
Aren't they just awesome! And because they are made out of vintage neckties...there are so many different options...I couldn't decide which to show you...so I just decided to show you a handful of them...
Wouldn't they be perfect gifts for the guys? I love this idea...as you can find styles that are fitting for each guy! Happy shopping.

I can't believe I am so late getting this post up today...sorry! Today's "Homemade" post is a mix of homemade and repurposed.
One of my favorite things...call me crazy...is my vintage wine bottle in a metal carrier! This piece usual resides in the living room, but I love it sooo much that I knew I could use it somehow...and I thought as an escort holder would be perfect! The pictures really don't do it justice though...as it is a big piece that is pretty tall! Anyhoo, here it is...
For the escort cards I printed guests names and towns (in the provence of Toscana, Italy) that they are to sit at. I cut them out using a paper cutter so that I could get the size I wanted. I then used a hot glue gun to adhere magnets to the back and olive leaves to the front. A very simple homemade project!
I didn't really decorate the table except for a tablecloth, a piece of light colored burlap and a couple extra branches...as I was way behind schedule...sorry!
My point to this post, as I know you all know how to make escort cards, is to get you thinking about things that you might own that you could use at your wedding. With magnets, pins, clothespins, ribbon, string, twine, etc...you can attach escort cards to just about anything! So take a look around, inside and out, and see what you can find! And I would be curious to know what you come up with...so don't hesitate to comment, tweet or e-mail me!
At least once a month, just so you know, I plan to do a homemade and repurposed post. I hope that this type of post helps inspire you!

So I was in the store yesterday when I ran across these little guys...
What are they you ask? Well they are iced tea sippers, my dears (wish the picture was a little better for you...it was the best I could find)! They are called sippers because they are porous so you can drink through them while they dissolve and sweeten your drink!
So here's your Tuesday Thought: Add these sippers to your drinks to not only add some additional flavor, but to add an extra little detail that makes your drinks a bit different from everyone elses!
The good news: they have cocktails sticks...
And cocoa stirrers...
Yet, I can't see why you couldn't add these to just about any drinks for a touch of flavor! I wonder how adding the lemon, lemon-lime, or pomegranate to sprakling water would taste? Just might have to try it out. Or adding the hot cinnamon, vanilla, or peppermint to coffees sounds good too! Of course, I would suggest trying them out first! But they sure do look cute...
