Tuesday Thought: Light it Up

Hey sweet peas!  It's Tuesday...which means it's time for another 'Tuesday Thought.'  I love doing this post.  For me, sometimes it's like finding a needle in a haystack...100's of pictures later, I find the one that triggers a thought ;-)  Well honestly, they all trigger thoughts...but I'm always on the lookout for one that would work for weddings and events (even though I usually can make them all work...hehe), can be something that you yourselves can recreate and of course, most importantly, is a bit different!

So here is the picture that triggered thoughts to swirl and twirl inside my head...
Tuesday Thought
How simply spectacular are the globe lights with pictures, notes and bits and pieces?  LOVE it ;-)

So here is a simple thought for today sweet peas:  While you can always use globe lights to hang pictures from at your wedding, I think this would make a FABULOUS escort area for an evening wedding!  Talk about a winter wonderland come to life...string up globe lights, or twinkling ones if you'd like, and clip your escort cards right on!  I might add little sprigs of greenery here and there too.

You could even take it up a notch by using glittered clothespins (like the ones I make here...nice plug, no?) so they sparkle and shine.  Oh and if your looking for globe lights, well I have those too...in clear and frosted ;-)

Granted, these globe lights are fantastic outside too...so all the Spring and Summer garden, winery, beach, ranch, barn, etc...weddings would all work perfectly as well.  And you can always change out the style of clips to fit your theme/setting.

Also, I think having your guests clip on notes for the two of you...to help your love shine...would be cute too!

What do you think sweet peas?  A good thought?

Over the Moon

...about all of these chandeliers!
Darling-Detail
Eeks!!!  Holy moly this is so gorgeous, no?

However, I want to make a small point here...while the chandeliers above are fabulously gorgeous (and would be pricey if you had to purchase on your own)...what really makes the picture above so over the moon for me is that there are mulitples of them!  One chandelier in the picture above would be great, would it not?  However, having multipe chandeliers is what really makes a statement without being too over the top...or what I call "over the moon".

My point:  mulitples don't necessarily have to break the bank or budget to be over the moon.  A lot of homemade paper chains, golden paper stars, bunting, twinkling lights, hanging mason jars filled with candles, etc.. are all fairly inexpensive items...yet, all over the moon in my book!  So when you are thinking of adding a detail to your big day, think about how to take it from great to over the moon.  For example, three paper chains over the tables are great, but 5 or 7 would be over the moon

P.S. - Just don't go over the top...unless that is the look you are going for...and then go big...really big ;-)

~ tuesday thought: diamond lights ~

Good morning my dears.  How's your Tuesday morning going?  Lovely, I hope!  Mine...I'm running just a little late this morning, but am finally getting into the swing of things.  And I have a little treat for today's Tuesday Thought!

We all love a little bling don't we?  And while we have been seeing chandeliers at events for some time now (which I LOVE)...I couldn't help but think how fabulously different these might look...
Wedding
Light bulbs shaped like diamonds...yes, please!
Wedding
I would group three of them together, hanging at different heights, for some impact!  And with a hanging kit from Ikea, Target or a similar store this would be quite easy to accomplish.  I picture them hanging from trees...but they would be gorgeous hanging over the head table, or anywhere else for that matter!  Actually, I would love 5 of them hanging over my dining room table now that I think about it...wonder if Mr. Big would go for that?  Hmmm, might have to butter him up first!

Granted these bulbs aren't like normal priced light bulbs - each one of these diamonds will set you back about $38.00...ouch!  But the fact that they are something different, and I believe they would be stunning (I haven't actually seen them in person) would make up for it I think!  After all they are diamonds right?  And where else could you get a diamond for $38?  You can get your own right here.

~ TENTastic ~

Okay, so I know some of the lights are out and the perfectionist in me was saying:  "you can't post this picture, the lights aren't perfect."  But what is perfect is the overall look of this tent...
Wedding
I love the lights strung on the top and outside.  And I really love how you can see the panels through the tent..they're beckoning me to come and take a closer look, because I really am dying to see what it looks like on the inside!  So if you are having a tent wedding, and it fits in your budget...why not add pretty panels of material to the inside?  It doesn't have to be on all sides, you could do two or just the side behind the head table and it would add a pretty backdrop versus the plain white tent walls.  I would look for bulk, discounted material for this type of project to get the best bang for your buck!  And go on, string some lights on the outside too...I only ask one thing...please just make sure all the lights work!
