Flowers of the Week: 8.29.11

Good golly - tell me it isn't so...there is absolutely no way possible that this is the last Monday in August!  Eeks, maybe I should be posting Fall flowers this week.  No, I am not ready yet...so it is just gonna have to wait until next Monday, when it is actually September and a bit closer to Fall.  Yes, that seems more appropriate, doesn't it?  However, I sure do have some pretty ones coming next week ;-)

And since I am NOT posting Fall flowers today, how about this swoonworthy bouquet to remind us how spectacular Summer really is...

So soft and pretty.  I love the textures in this bouquet too.  And you know those tendrils that spring out from the top, and even the one below by her bracet, well I love them!  I know some might not, but I oh so do.

Hope this adds some pretty to your Monday.  Wishing you a great one my dears!

Flowers of the Week: 3.28.11

Happy Monday my darlings!  Can you believe that today is the last Monday in March?  Eeks...time really is flying by these days.  Before I know it June will be here...with not only the arrival of Summer, but lots of other goodness too.  I am OVER THE MOON about a little project that I am working on, and will hopefully get to share with you soon...if not before June!

So why don't we start off this last Monday in March with a beautiful bouquet...

Beautiful, no?  I adore the softness of this bouquet, and (of course) the simple wrapped burlap stems.  A perfect bouquet for Spring!

And speaking of Spring, it has rained here almost everyday for the last two weeks, and I am looking forward to the sunshine and warmer temperatures starting today.  They say we are supposed to be in the upper 70's on Thursday which I am just tickled about.  I L-O-V-E warm weather, and am really, really, really (did I say it enough?) am looking forward to being able to get outside!  What are you really looking forward to this week?

Welcome 2011, so happy you are here.  And welcome my lovely readers - here's to a fabulous 2011!  I hope to have lots of goodness for you this year.  However, there might be some changes here at LCW, but they will all be good - promise.

As I have started off every week for the past year with the Flowers of the Week, I figured why change a good thing?  It's such a great way to start the week I think.  And instead of just posting one picture like I usually do, for this first Monday of the new year I am posting a handful of them.  Of all the weddings that took place last year, I have many favorites...but the flowers from this wedding are at the top of my list...

Gorgeous, no? I adore the variety of flowers, colors, textures and vases that they are in.  From the brides bouquet to the succulents on the tables - everything is soft, light and oh so pretty!

~ flowers of the week: 11.29.10 ~

Hello my dears!  I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Mine was spent sleeping all day in bed.  So sorry for my disappearance last week.  It honestly had to be my worst week this year!  I wasn't feeling 100% on Monday, and then Tuesday I was totally steamrolled with the flu.  And I'm not talking just any old flu, no sir - the kind that you're in bed for days on end, nothing to eat, barely can move, no shower...NOTHING!  You don't have the energy to do more than grunt if someone talks to you.  And you seriously think your world is coming to an end.  I've had this flu two other times that I can remeber - once over Valentine's Day 12 years ago, and then just after Christmas last year.  Hmmm...always comes around the holidays ~ note to self.

Yet, what I was most bummed about was not being able to make it up to Sonoma to hang out with Namoi and Dr. G!  And not talking to a lot of my family and friends ;-(.  Okay, enough of my sickness.  I did feel horrible though, as I did not even wish you Happy Thanksgiving - my sincerest apologies.

I'm not 100% yet,  but did get up, shower and eat on Sunday.  One more day of taking it easy and then I should be back to almost normal.  In the meantime, I am in the mood for some soft pretty flowers for this week.  Oh yes, these would be just fine, thank you...

This has to be in my top ten list of favorite arrangements!  I love all the soft colors with the candle and silver.  Plus, I love the pop of dark from the chocolate cosmo's and the unstructuredness of it!  Yep, these are definitely cheering me up.

P.S. - I have a handful of thank you's, tons of blogs to catch up on and comments to make, tweets to reply to, e-mails to get through, two photoshoots and two guest posts to do...all this week.  Also it's Mr. Big's birthday tomorrow, and I'm leaving for Florida next week for 12 days!  Eeeeek - I will try my hardest to get through them all!

P.S.S. - THANK YOU to everyone for your sweet comments, Thanksgiving wishes and get well wishes  - I was so deeply touched, and they are SINCERELY appreciated!!! Mwah, Mwah!
