Happy Cinco De Mayo

I wish I can say this post is up late because I was mixing up margaritas for us!  Nope it's just up late as I am running about two hours behind schedule today...really, can someone tell me how that happens ;-) 

Anyhoo, am I the only one that is craving some chips, salsa and guacamole right now?  Goodness that sounds lovely doesn't it.  And maybe instead of a margarita I will have a Corona with a lime, while sitting outside enjoying this almost 90 degree weather we are having today!  Wanna join me?

Since celebrating Cinco De Mayo is a big event here in California, I thought I would share a couple ways you can easily incorporate a few fabulous festive details to help celebrate today...

By adding some bright blooms to tin cans, some maracas and a serape or two you will have enough to get the party started.  Just bring in some snacks and a margarita mixer, and I think you will be shaking your maracas well into the night!

Perforated Paper, Yes Please

Well really Papel Picado...which literally means "perforated paper".  Papel picado is a Mexican folk art of cutting paper into elaborate designs commonly used at celebrations and events.  And while I am sure most of you lovelies have seen papel picado, I can't help post the picture below as it is papel picado perfection to me.

You see...papel picado is usually made from brightly colored paper...however, I am LOVING the neutral color of this one.  By far this is my favorite one to date!  I also love how the papel picado fits perfectly not only with the venue of this wedding, but the decor as well.  Here have a closer look at the tables...

See perfectly, no?  ~~~SQUEAL~~~   Yep, that's me excited!   Excited about how much I love the papel picado, how fabulous this table decor is, and to again be able to show that a neutral color palette for a wedding can be oh so gorgeous!
